BRAND NEW: Disney Updates and Finding Dory Trailer!

Hey everybody!

We have been very lucky this week with lots of exciting news from Disney including...

  • A first look at Rivers of Lighta brand new show coming to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. The show, set to debut on 22nd April, will feature two storytellers who 'call forth' upon four mystical, animal spirit guides to lead audiences through the story. The show will take place in the Asia section of the park.
  • The announcement of a brand new Big Hero 6 TV Series which is set to launch in 2017 on Disney XD. I am particularly excited about this!
  • Guests have finally started to meet and greet with Kylo Ren at Walt Disney World's Star Wars Launch Bay. After reports in January, it's great to finally see the end result. There are lots of photos and videos on social media, so be sure to check this out!
And finally, perhaps the most anticipated piece of Disney News that we have received this week, we have finally got a trailer for Disney Pixar's Finding Dory. The trailer, which was released yesterday on The Ellen Show, depicts Dory (played by DeGeneres) on her quest to reunite with her estranged family. Tackling similar issues to it's predecessor, this movie is sure to tug at the heart strings as our leading lady struggles to come to terms with her apparent abandonment.

Whilst I am a massive fan of the first Finding Nemo movie, I do have my reservations about this sequel. Despite featuring the vocal talents of stars such as Idris Elba, Michael Sheen and Diane Keaton, I cannot help but shake the feeling that we have another Cars 2 style crash on our hands! Following the success of critically acclaimed Inside Out, it is disappointing to see the best animation studio in the world* regurgitating sequels so frequently. What's next? The Incredibles 2? Cars 3? Toy Story 4? Well actually, yes. All three of those movies have been confirmed by Pixar to be released within the next 5 years. Sigh.

...But I will of course reserve judgment and watch this movie with an open mind. Finding Nemo is a story that has given hope to many and taught people all around the world to persevere and remain positive during even the most difficult times; most notably, YouTuber Talia Castellano who appeared on The Ellen Show in 2012 during her ongoing battle with cancer. Her motto? Dory's famous "just keep swimming" mantra and I am sure that if Finding Dory is able to relay a similar message, this movie will be a success.
